The Plasma Mobile team is happy to present the Plasma Mobile updates from November and December 2020.

Lock screen

Thanks to Marco Martin, notifications on the lock screen now have actions support. Clicking them requires the user to login before the action is executed.

PinePhone KDE Community edition pre-orders start from today, and we are continuously working on polishing the software that will be shipped with it.

Plasma Mobile is a user interface for phones and tablets, just like Plasma Desktop is for notebooks and desktop PCs.

Once again it's been a while since the last Plasma Mobile update was published, but as always that doesn't mean nothing happened.

It's almost hard to believe, but in the meantime we gained several completely new applications! Meet our new clock, weather, calculator and color contrast checking apps.

It's been a while since the last status update on Plasma Mobile, so let's take a look at what happened since then.

To assist new people in contributing, we organized a virtual mini Plasma Mobile sprint in April. During the three days, we discussed many things, including our current tasks, the websites and documentation, our apps and many other topics. Most of our important tasks have been asigned to people, many of them have been implemented already.

Status of Plasma Mobile

We often get asked: "how long until the 1.0 release?". Or: "how far away is Plasma Mobile 1.0?". The usual answer to both these question is "It'll be ready when it is ready". But, really, how do we know that it is ready?
